The first lady visited the beach with her husband, first lady Melania Trump, for a private family outing at their New Jersey home on Sunday.
During the visit, the Obamas also met with members of the local community, who helped the couple prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving dinner, a tradition that has become a tradition at the Trump White House.
The Obamas visited the Parson’s Island Resort, a resort in the Atlantic Ocean, to celebrate Thanksgiving and to meet with locals to see the island’s benefits, the White House said in a statement.
The President is scheduled to return to the White Castle on Tuesday to watch the game between the Chicago Bears and New York Giants, the same team that beat the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night, and the President will visit the White Mountains, the home of the Mount Rushmore of National Monuments, which is located on the resort’s private property, the Trump administration said.
The president will spend the Thanksgiving weekend at Mar-a-Lago, a club in Palm Beach, Florida, according to the statement.
The club has hosted the President since 2013, the first time the couple have spent Thanksgiving in Florida.
