This is an opportunity for fans to see what they can expect in the playoffs and also to see if their team is able to make a run for the championship.
The number of total points scored during the regular season is the only way the teams are separated by a score.
The most teams to score a total of at least 60 points in a season in the past three seasons are the 2000 Rams (59), 2000 Patriots (58), 2000 Eagles (58) and 2004 Raiders (58).
THE PLAYOFF TONIGHT After two seasons of the playoffs, the NFC is expected to have a clear lead over the AFC, with the Cowboys (7-1) winning their second straight division title.
This would be the first time the Cowboys have won consecutive division titles since 2006, and would give them a 2-0 record over their first two postseason appearances.
For the AFC and NFC, there is the possibility that the Patriots (9-1), Chiefs (7 and 3) and Raiders (7) will all fall short of the Superbowl.
The Chargers, Chiefs, Broncos and Jets all have the most games remaining on their schedules, while the Vikings (7), Seahawks (5) and Chiefs (4) are in the mix for a wild card berth.
The teams will be joined by a handful of other NFC and AFC teams in the playoff picture, including the Colts (5-2), Falcons (3-4) and Panthers (2-3).
THE BIGGST PLAYER ON THE FIELD In order to have the best chance to win, the teams will need to have at least one of the top 10 players on their roster.
This could mean an elite cornerback, a top safety, a star receiver or a superstar quarterback.
Here are the players the AFC teams will want to watch.
CB A.J. Bouye, Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers are the defending AFC champs and were able to get Bouye in free agency.
He is a physical, tough and versatile cornerback with a big arm.
He can make plays downfield, in the box or in the red zone.
WR Martavis Bryant, Pittsburgh: The Panthers’ No. 2 receiver is the team’s most consistent receiver and has the ability of catching a pass from anywhere on the sideline.
He also has a huge catch radius and is the best deep threat in the league.
QB Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts: Luck is a top-five QB in the NFL according to Pro Football Focus.
His numbers have improved from last season but the Colts will be hoping for a strong performance from Luck.
WR Odell Beckham, New York Giants: The Giants are expected to be in a rebuilding phase and they will need Beckham to step up and be the focal point of the offense.
The Giants have not had a top receiver since Victor Cruz and are not likely to do so in 2017 as they prepare for the season opener against the Carolina Panthers.
LB Von Miller, Denver Broncos: The Broncos have been struggling offensively this season but will need Miller to be the spark for the team in 2017 if they want to win a playoff game. LB Chris
