FLAMMOOS are reportedly shooting everything from plastic bags to golf balls at the beach and at a party in the city of Laguna Beach.
The news comes after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued an urgent warning to the public to avoid “unfamiliar sights, sounds, and activities at beaches and other areas, and to keep their distance from crowds.”
“The Government is actively working to protect the safety of the public and local communities, and has made the decision to suspend all activities and activities that may pose a threat to public safety,” a DHS statement said.
“This includes all activities that might be considered unapproved, potentially hazardous, or potentially dangerous.
These activities include beach and other outdoor activities, including water sports, surfing, and beach-side entertainment.”
The beach party reportedly occurred in the Laguna Bayside area, which is located in the San Fernando Valley, about 35 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
A Facebook post by a member of the Lagunas Beach Party group claimed that the group had been told to stay away from the beach party, but that it was a “shooting stunt.”
The group said the event was a group “with friends and some members who wanted to enjoy the beach in a relaxed environment.
It was not intended to be an illegal party,” the post stated.”
We did not shoot anyone,” it added.
The party reportedly began about 10 p.m. local time on Sunday and continued until the following day, with at least two people reportedly injured.
The incident was captured on video by a friend, who posted it to social media.
The LAPD said it had received numerous calls about the incident.
“Our officers are on the scene, and the Laguanas Beach party is being investigated.
If you have information, please contact the LAPD’s Public Information Bureau at 213-486-1700 or text tip to CRIMES (274637),” the department said in a statement.”
If you have any information about the safety or security of the residents of the area, please call the LAPD at 213.773.3302,” the LAPD added.
